Strange Things: It can’t be!
Prologue
One night in a small town, a woman was having her child . She was a beautiful baby girl with eyes that were so large and inviting that her Mom, Allison, almost couldn’t look away. Suddenly, a strong wind blew and she saw a woman, it took her awhile but she finally seen that the woman looked like the Greek Goddess of the moon, Selene. She started to speak, “Your child is special, in ways many are not. Upon your child’s birth the moon shinned bright on her face. She needs protection.”.
“From what? What are you saying?” Allison said as she clutched her only child’s small hands in fear.
“Relax, Goddess you need your energy for another birth.” Selene said.
“What? With all do respect, the doctor said there is only one.” Allison said, then she thought “Goddess?! Me a goddess?!”
“No, they are twins. And yes , you are a Goddess” She said and with the wisp of the wind she was gone. Allison felt the pain in her stomach and unknowingly started screaming. Suddenly, the doctors began to rush in.
“Another child’ she heard a doctor whisper, She then looked out the window and seen the moon disappearing as she slid into a world of pain.
She would later know that her children are protectors of the Earth.
Chapter 1 : The unknown
All four of us, Veronica , Lilly , Alyssa, and me, Alexa Willson were at my house sitting on my bed talking . They were my sisters and my best friends. Lilly is the youngest she is only nine, Veronica is ten, Alyssa and I are eleven. I turned to see what time it was 3:45 p.m. Then i seen the strangest thing, a weird glow emitting from my hands. It was blue, then I also seen the same glow coming from all of my friends hands. “Uh.. You guys, look at your hands they’re glowing!” I shout-whispered.
“OMG!” Shouted Alyssa as she was surprised. Then everything started to shake and I then turned to look at the clock it said 7:17 ‘It was just 3 o clock. What had happened?” I thought. Suddenly, I looked around my neck a blue Moon charm necklace was around it. Veronica had a orange flame charm necklace . Lilly had a green and blue Earth charm necklace. Last but least, Alyssa had a bright yellow star charm necklace with a small Sun charm underneath the star.
“Where did these necklaces come from?!” Veronica said curiously,then continued “ Hey, did anyone notice that the time changed from three to seven when the ground shook ? I seen this on TV and the people that were in it ended up having’ she paused for effect “Powers.”
“What?! We can’t have powers thats fake, it was tv.” Lilly said.
“So, if you don’t think it is powers. Look it up!” Alexa said “ We need to know, guys!” She practically begged. “Come on I really want to know!”
“Okay!” I unwilling said as I sat down at the computer “I will type in ‘Do we have powers’ Okay ,Alexa?” I typed in ‘Do we have powers on Yahoo. A long list of answers popped up. “We can’t possibly look through all these!” I said. On the top of the page it said 8267 million results, a lot. I went to the second page and the first result said ‘Real Kids with Real Powers! What to do?’
“Click It! Click it now ! ” Veronica yelled . My computer then went to that page and I silently read.
“We do have powers !” We all shouted in shock.
Chapter 2 : Us and The Elements
“What type of powers though ?” Lilly said. Then she started to think. “Um.. I probably have something to do with the Earth and Alyssa, you have to do with the stars and the Sun. Veronica you have to do with fire and the light. And you, Alexa probably have the power of the moon.” She said.
“So, we need to tell someone about this, someone who is one of us.” Alyssa said.
“What?! “ I say as I was cut off due to my Mothers entrance.
“Hi, Mom!” Alyssa said “ Do you know anything about us having’ she paused and took a confirming look at me then continued “powers?” She confidently whispered. My Mom looked as if she knew something but it was too sacred to share.
“Come on, Mom” I say “ tell us”
“Well, on the nights that each of you were born a woman, a goddess came to me. On the night of Alexa ’ s birth a woman came and she told me that she was a Goddess and that I am one and so was Alexa. She said you are very special and you need protection. Then she told me another child was going to be born tonight. The doctors told me it was only one child. So Alexa had a twin named Alyssa ,she had powers too.” As she told me the story I began to realize that all this had an connection to what had just happened.
I then told her what had just happened and she explained everything to me.
Chapter 3: The forgotten
She then told us that their was a strong force of evil that was after. I was terrified. My mom then reminded us that we have powers.
“ Alyssa , you have the ability to control the Sun and you have premonitions you also have control over fire . Each and everyone of you has premonitions. Alexa , you can control water and the moon. Veronica , you can also control fire but you can do light which is a stronger type of fire. Lilly, you have the control over Earth like being able make earthquakes and you can make plants grow and move. Okay. since you now know you will probably have to stay home from school for a few days. You guys full powers are going to be coming in and that means a power cold . You guys will not be sick but your abilities will be going on haywire.”
“So, Mom what should we do while we are ‘sick’? “ Lilly said putting air quotes around the word ‘‘sick’’
“You are to train. The thing that’s out to destroy you guys is called the Darkness , and it is strong.” My Mom said.
“But, how do we-?” Alyssa said being cut off by Mom.
“Hush, you will soon know.” She said as we walked to the ‘Chill Pill’ which is what our family calls the extra room used for nothing. Weirdly, the room is shaped like a pill, it’s oval like.
Chapter 4: Home wet home
“Okay, so should I try to move the water ! ” I said as I turned towards Mom.
“I guess so. You guys can watch next up Alyssa and Veronica together since you two have fire.” Mom said. I blankly stared at the glass of water.
“So, is there some kind of spell to say....” I said shrugging just wondering.
“No, just think of a ball of water ‘Connect and concentrate.” she Said
“What is that supposed to mean!” I shouted and I had thrown my hands up so the water was starting to creep out the glass. I was mad so I threw my hands down and gallons of water hit the floor. The sky was turning a dark grey, a storm. “Whoa! “ I said
Lilly looked irritated “ You’re just now noticing.” .
“Really!” Alyssa and Veronica add in.
“Try to clean it up. Just think of the water in the cup and happiness . Stay calm” My Mom said. So I tried , it worked.
“Finally!” I said relived.” Your turn guys!” I said turning to Veronica and Alyssa. They looked scared. I was too , if they messed up they could burn down the whole house maybe even, the town.
“Okay.” Veronica said slowly. “Let’s try!” She had her hands in a semicircle closing them as time passed. Suddenly, a ball of fire formed in the middle of them. Lilly was so shocked she moved her hands toward me and Mom on accident.
“Ahh! “ I yell I threw up my hands and only thought about protecting me and Mom . A shield of water formed in front of us and helped end the fire.
“See , you worked together.” My mom said.
“ What ! ? She almost killed you guys.” Veronica said irritated.
“But I figured out how to save us!” I said .
“I’m so sorry guys! I guess I just lost my focus!” Alyssa said looking for forgiveness.
“It’s okay, I am just glad me and Mom are okay.” I said.
“Okay! It’s Lilly’s turn!” mom said
Lilly stepped up to the chair and took one look at the plant . It started growing , fast. Then she looked down the plant shrunk. By watching her, I could tell that by far she was the most advanced in her power out of all of us. “Wow! “ mom said as Lilly brightly beamed.
“ I have been practicing since I was really young.” Lilly said too proud.
“Who is the most powerful? “ Veronica said I could tell we were all getting fed up with Lilly’s pride.
Chapter 5: Pride, hope, and destiny
“Well... Uh.” Mom said
“ Tell us please!” I said begging my Mom
“ Okay , Alexa is the most powerful.” Mom said as she turned toward me. I wanted to smile on the outside but I didn’t for Lilly’s sake . Lilly’s bright smile quickly faded into a scowl.
